Ride-height and suspension diagnosis

Air suspension faults can result from leaking air springs, lines, valve blocks, compressors, height sensors or electrical controls. A vehicle sagging after parking may have an air leak; a vehicle unable to rise may have a compressor or control problem. Measure individual corner heights before and after parking, review pressure and sensor data, and leak-test the correct circuits. AIRMATIC and Active Body Control are not interchangeable systems and require different procedures.

Repair decisions and verification

Confirm ride-height calibration, compressor duty cycle and stable vehicle height after an extended parked period.

A low corner, suspension warning or unusually stiff ride can indicate an air leak, compressor fault, sensor issue or hydraulic problem on equipped cars.

How the problem should be evaluated

Identify whether the car uses AIRMATIC or ABC/active suspension before testing. Evaluate pressure, leaks, ride-height signals and control faults as appropriate.

Why the model and engine matter: ABC hydraulic components are not interchangeable with air-suspension components.
