Power distribution and network diagnosis

Mercedes control units rely on stable battery voltage, grounds, fuse distribution, wake-up signals and CAN/LIN communications. A weak battery or intermittent supply can produce multiple unrelated warning messages. Measure resting and cranking voltage, charging output and voltage drop across grounds; then review a complete module scan for which fault occurred first. Inspect water ingress and connector corrosion when indicated. Module replacement should follow verification of power, ground and communication, not precede it.

Repair decisions and verification

Confirm the fault does not return after sleep/wake cycles and verify that coding or battery registration is completed when applicable.

Several warnings at once, an intermittent no-start or an inactive start-stop feature may stem from electrical supply, module communication or a specific subsystem.

How the problem should be evaluated

Test battery condition and power distribution first, record the warning messages and read all relevant module faults before replacing electronics.

Why the model and engine matter: Electrified equipment and drivetrain options affect the diagnostic route.
